We don’t hire robots. We hire people. Everyone is different, and we love that.

A family run business

Our lovely family run business operates a little differently to a lot of other businesses, and our recruitment policy is as much to do with personality as it is about qualifications. We need new starters to fit in and be part of the team. Part of the family.

Our approach

A lot of other businesses will have things called values,  visions or mission statements. Which is all fine and well, but quite often they’re pretty obvious things that really, all of us should be doing anyway. And often they can be swamped in corporate speak or so ambiguous they can leave everyone a little confused. We believe they can also be restricting and too formulaic.

Which is why we’d rather talk to our team about what’s really important to us and some of the things we’ll also be expecting from them. We then leave it to our staff to bring their own personality, skillsets and individualism to the role.

So far so good?

Firstly, what traits
do our staff here
at Wellburn share?

Here at family run Wellburn, we put a lot of energy into recruiting the best people, for the right roles. Some of that energy goes into making sure that all candidates being considered for a particular role, aren’t just suitable on paper, but share certain traits we require from anyone joining us.

It’s the touchy feely stuff that we’re looking for. Here’s some of the traits we need any new and current member of the team to have in abundance.

Compassion
Showing compassion for all around, whether it’s a resident or colleague is vitally important at all times.

Resilience
No matter what the role, there’ll be good times and tougher times. A strong resilience will help staff and others around them feel confident and supported.

Respect
We expect every employee to show respect to those around them, every step of the way. To be kind and think about how their behaviour affects others.

Dedication
It’s what drives us and inspires those around us too. We love dedication and for those who have it, there’s always rewards.

Inclusivity
Any bias or prejudice has no place in Wellburn. We show support and love to all, and we pride ourselves on our desire to create and maintain a diversely thriving environment.

Loyalty
Our success as a company is in large part due to the loyalty of our amazing employees. We recognise this and make sure loyalty is rewarded.

Honesty
We ask every member of staff to be true and honest to themselves and those around them at all times. It’s not a weakness to admit faults, we all have them. Be open and others will open up too, in return.

We’re humans.
We want our staff
to be human.

Join us and be a part of our talented team.

Most workplaces, intentionally or not, train people out of normal human behaviours. They want staff to be predictable. They want staff to be replaceable. They don’t want staff to challenge the status quo.

But humans don’t work that way. Humans are unpredictable.

Here at Wellburn, we believe you can’t replace one person with another the same way you swap tyres on a car. Workplaces that try to control human nature become miserable fast.

We hire our staff for their brilliant individual qualities. So we want them to show their true colours, bring that human touch, and share it with our residents and their colleagues. And we promise, they’ll respond, and deliver it back.

A few human truths.

Humans aren’t perfect

We don’t want our staff to be afraid to fail. Just brave enough to take responsibility. This is how we grow and learn.

Humans have voices

All of our staff have a voice that is as valuable as anyone else’s. We encourage them to use it. Singing out loud is encouraged and it happens often.

Humans are unique

Whether a member of staff loves Scandinavian death metal, or prefers to cover their desk in glittery stars, we never want them to hide it. There’s no need. We always ask staff to be themselves and we always celebrate individualism and encourage diversity.

Come and join us and
be part of our culture,
and our talented team.
